PSAU, represented by the College of Pharmacy, took part in the 21st Meeting of the Deans of Pharmacy Colleges in Saudi Universities, hosted by Najran University and chaired by its President, Prof. Abdulrahman Al-Khudairi.
Held at the College of Pharmacy at Najran University, the meeting brought together deans from pharmacy colleges across the Kingdom. In his opening remarks, Prof. Al-Khudairi welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such gatherings in preparing highly qualified national graduates who meet the evolving needs of the healthcare sector in Saudi Arabia.
The meeting featured active contributions from attendees, including Dr. Manal Al-Osaimi, Dean of PSAU’s College of Pharmacy, who discussed ways to strengthen collaboration among colleges and share expertise in curriculum and course development—initiatives aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 to enhance educational outcomes.
Prof. Abdulkarim Al-Bukairi, Chair of the Council of Pharmacy Deans in Saudi Arabia, highlighted that this regular meeting—now in its seventh consecutive round with four sessions held annually—aims to improve graduate readiness, monitor labor market trends, and raise the quality of academic outcomes through initiatives such as refining admission standards and enhancing students’ academic and practical skills.
The agenda also included discussions on expanding collaboration among colleges, developing graduate and continuing education programs, and promoting a culture of innovation to elevate the quality of pharmacy education nationwide.
The meeting concluded with a site visit to the Center for Advanced Materials and Nanotechnology Research, where attendees viewed state-of-the-art facilities and research projects. Participants also toured the university hospital to explore its medical infrastructure and services.
PSAU’s participation reflects its ongoing commitment to national academic cooperation and its role in supporting the advancement of higher education and the development of the pharmacy profession in the Kingdom.
