The Civil Engineering Department at the College of Engineering, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, has been granted official student chapter status by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). This recognition places PSAU among academic institutions worldwide with an accredited ASCE Student Chapter.
This recognition marks a significant achievement for the University and reflects the quality of its academic programs and activities. The chapter aims to strengthen students’ engagement with international engineering societies, enhance their competitive skills, and provide direct opportunities to connect with experts and professionals across a wide range of engineering disciplines worldwide.
The student chapter will support scientific and extracurricular activities within the Department and enable students to participate in local and international competitions and professional events. This aligns with the University’s strategy to enhance the quality of engineering education and strengthen its presence in the global academic community.
This achievement is the result of more than two years of sustained effort, follow-up, and related field activities led by a specialized departmental team comprising Dr. Dhaar bin Saad Al-Qahtani, Prof. Mohammed Amin Khedimallah, and Dr. Sultan bin Abdulaziz bin Mu'aythir. Their efforts culminated in meeting all organizational requirements and securing final recognition from the Society.
The achievement also reflects the University’s commitment to strengthening applied engineering practice and equipping young national talent with the knowledge and skills needed to enhance practical competencies. It further supports the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to improve the quality of educational outcomes and foster engineering innovation.
