Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University has completed its academic and technical preparations for the start of the new academic year 1448 AH, which will commence next Sunday at the main campus in Al-Kharj and across the University’s various branches. The preparations included ensuring the readiness of classrooms, computer labs, laboratories, and enhancing the efficiency of service and operational facilities.
The readiness efforts included preliminary inspections and operational testing of technical equipment, computers, audio-visual systems, and networks, in addition to reviewing the efficiency of air-conditioning and lighting in classrooms, as well as security and safety requirements. Identified issues were addressed and resolved according to priority to ensure the smooth continuity of the academic process from the first day and contribute to enhancing the quality of the educational system.
The operational plan also included specialized teams conducting technical follow-up of academic systems to verify the readiness of educational programs, particularly the upgraded Learning Management System (Blackboard Ultra). This was accompanied by providing backup equipment and supplies in classrooms and laboratories to enable early response to any technical issues that could affect lectures, in line with the University’s strategic objectives for digital transformation and operational efficiency.
It is worth noting that the University’s educational infrastructure includes 174 laboratories, comprising 137 on the main campus and 37 across its branches, in addition to 81 computer labs, including 34 at the main campus and 47 at the branches. This reflects the scale of the University’s technical capabilities supporting academic programs and practical applications, with the use of these facilities managed through dedicated electronic systems for classroom management and support services. These capabilities enable the University to keep pace with developments in research and innovation and contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
