Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday aimed at empowering and developing national human capabilities in the fields of data and artificial intelligence. The signing took place on the sidelines of the International Conference on AI and Data Capacity Building (ICAN 2026), held in Riyadh.
Representing the University during the signing ceremony was His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al‑Tameem, University President, while SDAIA was represented by Dr. Mishari bin Ibrahim Al‑Meshari, Deputy Director of the National Information Center. The event was attended by a notable group of academics, specialists, and representatives from over 50 local and international organizations participating in the conference.
The Memorandum of Understanding aims to establish a strategic collaboration in providing technical and professional consultations by experts in data and artificial intelligence, as well as designing and delivering events, programs, training camps, and awareness initiatives in these fields. The goal is to enhance human capital efficiency and equip national talent with the skills required to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.
This cooperation aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop national capabilities in advanced technologies, contributing to knowledge localization, strengthening national readiness for comprehensive digital transformation, and fostering a data‑ and innovation‑driven economy.
