Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, represented by the Intellectual Awareness Unit, organized on Tuesday a forum titled “The Role of Government Entities in Promoting National Values and Building Intellectual Awareness,” with the participation of 11 governmental, educational, and security entities. The event was held at the main theater of the University City in Al-Kharj, in the presence of His Excellency the University President, Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, along with senior officials, university vice presidents, and university staff.
The forum aimed to strengthen national values and reinforce the principles of balanced intellectual awareness, highlighting the importance of institutional integration among various sectors to address contemporary intellectual challenges and to foster an academically aware and intellectually secure environment.
The forum program featured a keynote session delivered by His Excellency the Advisor at the Royal Court and Member of the Council of Senior Scholars, Prof. Saad bin Nasser Al-Shathri, entitled “Values and Their Role in Enhancing Intellectual Security.” The forum also included a series of workshops addressing the role of government entities in protecting intellectual security and strengthening national belonging. These workshops discussed several key themes, most notably intellectual awareness in the workplace, collaboration between universities and government entities in promoting intellectual security, and the use of artificial intelligence to enhance intellectual awareness and monitor digital risks.
In conjunction with the forum, an accompanying exhibition was inaugurated in the lobby of Building 6, with the participation of the eleven entities. Visitors were introduced to initiatives supporting intellectual security under the slogan “Government Institutions: A Key Partner in Building Awareness.” The exhibition also showcased scholarly posters representing student contributions on topics including national identity, the Kingdom’s humanitarian role in supporting nations, and Saudi diplomacy in advocating for just causes.
On the sidelines of the forum, the University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Center for Intellectual Protection, aimed at establishing a framework for cooperation and coordination in organizing lectures and seminars, as well as exchanging research, studies, and scientific consultations. This partnership seeks to address contemporary intellectual issues and promote the values of moderation and balance. The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University by His Excellency the University President, Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, and on behalf of the Center by Major General Abdullah bin Hadi Al-Hajri.
It is worth noting that Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University’s efforts in the field of intellectual awareness during the current year included the implementation of more than 160 awareness programs, benefiting over 10,000 participants.
