His Excellency the Vice Rector of Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Mishari bin Ayad Al-Osaimi, inaugurated on Sunday the “Leaders of Community Impact” Programme, organised by the College of Science and Humanities, represented by the Department of Mathematics, at the Training Hall in Building No. (6) at the University City in Al-Kharj.
The programme, which will continue until 15 April, is being held in observance of the Saudi Day of Social Responsibility, with the active participation of several university entities. It seeks to prepare a generation of leaders in volunteer work and community initiatives, while further strengthening the University’s role in serving the local community.
The programme features eight specialised workshops and dialogue sessions covering a range of key themes, most notably the fundamentals of volunteer work, the design and management of volunteer opportunities, and the development of effective leadership. It also includes workshops on institutional identity, content creation, and human communication, with the aim of equipping participants with the skills required to design community initiatives and translate them into tangible impact.
The programme is expected to benefit more than 150 participants from among university affiliates and members of the local community, thereby contributing to the promotion of a culture of social responsibility and enriching the knowledge and practical skills of volunteers. This aligns with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to increase the number of volunteers and maximise the impact of community engagement.
The programme is scheduled to conclude next Wednesday with a ceremony honouring participants and implementing entities, following a series of joint meetings and dialogue sessions involving the Intellectual Awareness Units, the Social Responsibility Administration, and the Public Relations and Institutional Identity Administration at the University.
