Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University concluded on Wednesday the activities of the First Engineering Forum of Saudi Universities, which was organized by the University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, in cooperation with the College of Engineering, under the theme “With Engineering, We Connect Creativity to Sustainability.” The forum was held at the University City in Al-Kharj Governorate and witnessed broad participation from 15 local universities and 14 external entities.
The final day of the forum featured a range of scientific competitions and activities, including the Bridge Design Competition, in which students demonstrated their engineering simulation skills, in addition to the completion of the final evaluation phase for the Sustainable Building Solutions Hackathon projects. The participating innovations were assessed based on standards of efficiency and technological sustainability.
The closing program also included scientific sessions and specialized workshops that addressed “Sustainability in Engineering Design” and the applications of “Artificial Intelligence in Construction Quality Monitoring,” with the aim of equipping participants with the latest technological trends in the engineering sector and enhancing academic outcomes to keep pace with the Kingdom’s ongoing urban development.
At the conclusion of the forum, His Excellency the Vice President of the University for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Mishari bin Ayad Al-Osaimi, on behalf of the President of the University, patronized the forum’s closing ceremony. During the ceremony, His Excellency honored the winning teams that achieved top positions in the engineering competitions and hackathon. Recognition was also extended to the participating universities and sponsoring entities in appreciation of their active role in the success of the two-day forum, which succeeded in creating a competitive environment that fostered innovation among students and specialists, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 in supporting sustainable development and advancing national engineering capabilities.
