His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al‑Tamim, President of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University, sponsored on Sunday the closing ceremony of the “1447 AH Student Scientific Forum,” organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs at the main auditorium on the university campus in Al‑Kharj. The event was attended by the University Vice President for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Mishary bin Iyad Al‑Osaimi, college deans, members of the academic staff, and a number of students.
The forum aims to develop students’ research capabilities, encourage their entrepreneurial mindset, and enhance their knowledge production—contributing to the preparation of a generation capable of actively participating in the comprehensive national development journey.
Upon his arrival, His Excellency toured the accompanying exhibition, which featured scientific posters, research projects, and distinguished student innovations. The exhibition included five main thematic sections, where students provided detailed explanations of their projects and research efforts across various fields, including scientific research, innovation, sustainable development, community engagement, and the promotion of Islamic values and national identity.
The official ceremony began with the royal anthem, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. A visual presentation was then displayed, highlighting the stages of preparation for the forum and the efforts involved. The presentation also featured this year’s participation statistics, which reached 492 submissions by 674 male and female students, of which 277 entries were shortlisted for the final stages.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Eissa bin Khalaf Al‑Dossary, delivered a speech emphasizing that the forum reflects the university’s mission to nurture creative minds and promote a culture of innovation—aligned with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in building a sustainable, innovation‑driven knowledge economy. He expressed his gratitude to the University President for his continuous support and commended the participating students for their academic excellence.
For their part, the participating students expressed pride in belonging to the university’s scholarly environment and appreciation for the role of faculty members in refining their research skills and helping transform their ideas into competitive applied projects.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Excellency the University President honored the winning students across the forum’s various categories, and commemorative photos were taken.
The accompanying exhibition also showcased key statistics of student participation. The Innovation and Invention track topped the submissions with 160 entries, followed by Scientific Research with 129 entries. The Sustainable Development and Economic Diversification track received 71 entries, the Community Engagement and Volunteer Initiatives track received 68 entries, while 63 entries were submitted under the Promotion of Islamic Values and National Identity track.
