On Monday, Rabi' al-Awwal 23, 1447 AH, His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Mohammed bin Saad bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Al-Kharj, sponsored the "Celebration and Launch" ceremony, organized by the university, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs, to mark the launch of student activities for the new academic year. Upon his arrival at the university campus, His Excellency the University President, Professor Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, and the university's vice presidents received His Highness.
His Excellency the University President delivered a speech welcoming His Highness the Governor of Al-Kharj, praising his honor, which reflects his support and interest in enhancing the university's educational journey and student activities. He emphasized that the university represents an integrated environment for character building and skill development, and a platform for discovering talent and honing leadership capabilities. He called on students to actively participate in activities and take advantage of the opportunities and programs offered by the university, which contribute to creating an informed and proactive generation that serves their country and contributes to achieving its aspirations.
The ceremony included an operetta performed by university students, in addition to honoring a select group of talented men and women who have achieved distinguished international accomplishments on behalf of the university. His Highness also witnessed the signing of several agreements between the university and various community organizations, including the Abdullah Al Rajhi Charitable Foundation, the Naqaa Anti-Smoking Association, the Karaj Club, and GYM2A Sports Company. These agreements aim to strengthen qualitative partnerships and support student and community activities.
His Highness then toured the Achievements and Awards Exhibition, reviewing the most notable achievements of the university's staff and students during 2024 and 2025 in the fields of innovation, scientific research, and academic and athletic excellence. He then headed to the Research, Development, and Innovation Center, a key pillar for supporting innovation and enabling scientific research in strategic fields. He listened to an explanation of the center's advanced infrastructure and modern design, which contribute to enhancing the localization of technology and supporting the knowledge economy in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
At the conclusion of the visit, His Highness the Governor of Al Kharj received a commemorative shield from His Excellency the President of the University in appreciation of his visit and honoring this occasion.
