His Royal Highness Lieutenant General Turki bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force, visited on Wednesday the pavilion of Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University participating in the “World Defense Show 2026” held in Riyadh. During the visit, His Highness reviewed several research projects and emerging technologies developed by the university in the fields of defense and security industries.
His Highness listened to a detailed briefing from the pavilion’s team on the outputs of applied research and innovative, implementable solutions designed to enhance the efficiency of local industries and strengthen the readiness of the defense sector through the contributions of promising national talent.
In a related development, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University and the Ministry of Interior signed a strategic cooperation memorandum covering areas of education, training, research, innovation, digital solutions, and the exchange of expertise between both parties. The university was represented in the signing ceremony by Prof. Raed bin Abdullah Al‑Yousef, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, while the ministry was represented by Eng. Nabil bin Khalid Al‑Dabal, CEO of the Ministry of Interior Development Program.
Additionally, His Excellency Prof. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al‑Tamim, President of the University, attended the awards ceremony of the “Defense Innovation” event, which is held alongside the exhibition to support innovators in the defense field and foster a culture of innovation within the defense and security sectors—aligned with national aspirations in this vital domain.
As part of its participation, Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University concludes today, Thursday, its engagement in the third edition of the exhibition organized by the General Authority for Military Industries under the theme “The Future of Defense Integration.” Throughout the event, the university presented a distinguished range of advanced projects and modern technologies developed within its research ecosystem, aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s defense and security capabilities and highlighting the significant progress achieved by academic institutions in supporting national priorities.
It is worth noting that the university’s participation comes within the broader national efforts to promote innovation in defense sectors, in alignment with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to develop human capabilities and support the transition toward a sustainable national economy driven by knowledge and innovation.
