Yesterday, Wednesday, the General Administration of Information Technology organized a specialized workshop titled “Foundations of the Digital Transformation Strategic Plan” at Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University. The event was held under the patronage and in the presence of His Excellency the University Vice President, Prof. Hamad bin Nasser Al-Turaiki, with the participation of several department directors, experts, and specialists in technology and digital transformation.
The workshop aimed to raise awareness of strategic planning concepts and their pivotal role in supporting digital transformation. It also reviewed methodologies for developing a digital transformation strategy aligned with the university’s vision and institutional plans, contributing to enhancing the efficiency of academic and administrative operations and achieving the university’s digital transformation objectives.
The workshop was inaugurated by Mr. Waleed bin Mohammed Al-Sulaitin, Director of the General Administration of IT, who welcomed the Vice President and attendees. He emphasized the university’s commitment to adopting best practices in planning and digital transformation, working within a comprehensive strategy that meets stakeholders’ needs and aligns with the university’s direction and Saudi Vision 2030. He noted that strategic planning is a fundamental pillar for ensuring the success of digital initiatives and achieving the desired institutional impact.
The workshop covered several key topics, including the principles of strategic planning, the main drivers for adopting it at the university, and the detailed stages of preparing the strategy. It also highlighted essential inputs for developing the strategic plan, such as national and global trends, benchmarking, internal plans, current state assessments, and future aspirations.
The session featured active participation from attendees in shaping the vision, mission, values, pillars, and strategic objectives, as well as identifying the key enablers required for successful implementation.
This workshop is part of a series of programs and initiatives implemented by the university to enhance its digital readiness, empower its staff with future skills, and support comprehensive digital transformation. These efforts aim to strengthen the quality of the academic, research, and administrative ecosystem at the university while aligning with national directions in this vital field.
