In a notable academic achievement, Mubarak bin Mahfouz Al-Dosari, a medical student at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University (PSAU), secured first place in the “Oral Presentations” competition among 64 participants at the 8th Student Research Day, recently hosted by Imam Mohammad Ibn Saud Islamic University and organized by the Research and Innovation Unit at its College of Medicine.
The event brought together outstanding medical students from across the Kingdom, aiming to advance research engagement and elevate scientific competencies among emerging healthcare professionals.
Al-Dosari’s top-ranking achievement came amid strong national competition, with 23 universities contributing a total of 166 research posters. He earned first place for his cutting-edge research titled:
“Decoding the Genetics of Demyelination: Predicting Potentially Pathogenic Coding and Non-Coding Regulatory SNPs in the MBP Gene in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis.”
His work highlights the growing capability of Saudi researchers to tackle complex biomedical challenges through advanced analytical methodologies and innovative scientific approaches.
This accomplishment further reinforces PSAU’s prominent standing in national academic forums and reflects its strategic alignment with Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in advancing a knowledge-based economy and fostering innovation.
