The Central Laboratory at Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University has released its operational and training statistics for the first semester of the 1447 AH academic year, reflecting advanced research and technical activity and highlighting its vital role in supporting the University’s scientific research and innovation ecosystem.
The statistics revealed the completion of more than 2,200 laboratory testing and analysis requests, carried out over 7,800 hours of work and training. This was achieved within an integrated research environment that included the participation of 19 faculty members, researchers, and supervisors, in addition to the training of 44 trainees—including research assistants and equipment operators—from among graduates, postgraduate students, and undergraduate students.
The laboratory’s research and training services supported several scientific and health colleges, including the College of Science and Humanities in Al‑Kharj, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Applied Medical Sciences in Al‑Kharj, and the College of Science and Humanities in Hotat Bani Tamim.
As part of its strategic partnership with the private sector, the laboratory also supported eight researchers and research assistants in the fields of health and industry, reinforcing the University’s role as a knowledge partner in national development.
The laboratory’s training and research activities were carried out within an advanced suite of materials and applications laboratories, covering research fields such as health, energy, polymers, batteries, organic synthesis, and sustainability studies. Trainees benefited from a range of distinctive initiatives, including student training programs through the Scientific Forum and specialized programs delivered via the National Open‑Access Platform.
This outstanding performance of the Central Laboratory reflects the University’s commitment to providing a stimulating environment for scientific research and developing young national talents according to the highest technical standards, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030 in the areas of research, development, and innovation.
