Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University welcomed its students across its various colleges and branches today, Sunday, with the start of the 1447 AH academic year. This year's arrival was accompanied by an integrated system of academic and technical equipment aimed at enhancing the quality of the educational environment and supporting services.
The university's preparations included updating its academic and administrative structure and developing digital systems to support the admissions and registration systems. Modern classrooms and laboratories were also equipped early, along with central laboratories equipped with the latest scientific equipment. The university also sought to enhance its central library and clinical simulation center, in addition to developing the digital content center and digital production studio, ensuring a smooth launch of the educational process from day one.
His Excellency the University President, Professor Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Tamimi, welcomed all students, especially the new students who began a new phase in their educational journey today. Al-Tamimi emphasized the importance of diligence and perseverance from day one, emphasizing that the university is committed to providing a distinguished educational environment that prepares a generation capable of effectively contributing to the service of religion and country.
As part of its services to students, the Deanship of Student Affairs announced the start of online registration for student housing for the first semester of 1447 AH (2019-2020) through the Academic Services Portal. Comprehensive support is also provided for students with disabilities, as well as psychological and social support through a virtual clinic and programs such as "Ask Me" and "Guiding Friend."
The Deanship of Admissions and Registration and the Academic and Student Advising Unit also launched comprehensive orientation programs to familiarize students with university systems and services. The university also sought to enhance extracurricular activities through a diverse system of student clubs, including the Innovation Club, the Ithraa Media Club, the Ihsan Volunteer Club, and the Rovers Club. In addition, the "My Activity" digital portal allows students to easily join activities and events.
Regarding digital transformation, the university has completed more than 4,500 e-courses within flexible learning paths and developed digital platforms such as "Reports" and "MyPSAU" to improve the efficiency of the university experience. The university achieved a score of 82.85% in the 2024 Digital Transformation Index, qualifying it for the "Excellence" category in the National Digital Education Index.
It is worth noting that the university continues its efforts to strengthen its academic and research infrastructure, aiming to achieve leadership among Saudi universities, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
