Prince Sattam University has joined the United Nations-led International Green Skills and Learning Initiative (IGSLI) as a founding partner, overseen by Times Higher Education (THE). This partnership makes it the first educational institution worldwide to implement the pilot Green Skills Assessment Framework, reflecting its commitment to achieving sustainability and promoting environmental education.
The initiative's official white paper highlights the university's innovative educational model, which integrates sustainability concepts across three main tracks: "Classroom, Community, and the World." This model places students at the heart of the green learning process, enhancing their awareness of their pivotal role in building a sustainable future.
The university is participating, alongside a number of prestigious international universities, such as the University of Manchester and Singapore Management University, in setting international standards to consolidate green skills in higher education systems around the world.
This global approach and collaboration aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and Saudi Vision 2030, which prioritizes environmental protection and building a diversified and sustainable economy.
As part of this pioneering role, Prince Sattam University intends to organize a series of specialized workshops, expand international partnerships, and guide other educational institutions to adopt the global green skills framework. This will contribute to preparing a new generation of environmentally conscious leaders capable of facing future challenges.
This affirms the university's commitment to its pioneering role in supporting environmental sustainability and building an integrated educational system that strengthens the Kingdom's international standing in achieving sustainable development goals.
