In 2025, Prince Sattam Bin Abdulaziz University accomplished a series of remarkable achievements at global, regional, and national levels, reflecting the quality of its educational outcomes and research excellence. These successes come under the generous support of the Kingdom’s leadership, the guidance of His Excellency the Minister of Education and Chairman of the Council of Universities Affairs, and the commitment of the university’s leadership and staff to advancing education, research, innovation, and community development in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
The year began with a strong start in January, as the College of Dentistry ranked first in research productivity, affirming its leadership in specialized scientific research. The university’s sports team won the Universities League Cup, and the College of Engineering and Computer Science programs earned full academic accreditation, enhancing the quality of its technical programs according to international standards.
In February, the university continued its distinction by hosting the first Sustainability in Building Materials Exhibition and organizing the “Mawahib 9” talent competition. Dr. Malik Al-Duhaimi received the Gulf Engineering Union Award for Excellence and Innovation, underscoring the competence of the university’s academic staff. The university also celebrated Founding Day with a comprehensive event and exhibition, reinforcing national identity.
March marked another milestone with full accreditation for the Bachelor of Law program, strengthening the academic credibility of its legal education. In April, the university expanded its global engagement by hosting the Universities Esports League and achieving international recognition at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions 2025, winning a gold medal with honors and two silver medals. The university also participated in the International Education Exhibition, launched nine new postgraduate programs, and concluded the month with a graduation ceremony under the patronage of His Royal Highness the Governor of Riyadh Region, reaffirming its commitment to preparing national talents for the labor market.
In May, the university became the first higher education institution to join as an international founding partner for Green Skills and Learning, reflecting its commitment to global environmental initiatives. It earned the ISO 22301 certification for Business Continuity Management, confirming the efficiency of its administrative systems, and ranked first in environmental and health innovation research. The university also welcomed a visit from His Excellency the Minister of Education. In June, it advanced into the Top 100 universities globally in the Times Impact Rankings, marking a significant leap in its international standing, and achieved the prestigious Triple Crown Accreditation, affirming its comprehensive academic excellence.
July witnessed full accreditation for several master’s programs, enriching the quality of higher education at the university. The university also won a gold medal and the Jury Award at the WICO Exhibition for an innovative medical project. In August, it recorded notable progress in professional licensing exam results, reflecting the high quality of its professional training.
October highlighted the university’s scientific prominence with 17 researchers listed among Stanford–Elsevier’s Top 2% of Scientists Worldwide, reinforcing its global research impact. The university advanced 250 positions in the Times World University Rankings 2026. In November, it secured first place in the Gulf Robotics Challenge, earned a patent for the College of Dentistry, and achieved the “Progress” category in the National Digital Education Index, aligning with the Kingdom’s digital transformation goals. It also ranked among the Top 25 universities in the Arab world.
The year concluded in December with visits from ambassadors and education experts to strengthen international partnerships, culminating in the achievement of student Abdulaziz Al-Otaibi and his team “Wathiq,” who secured a place in the National Technology Development Program (NTDP), exemplifying the university’s role in fostering technological entrepreneurship.
